Mr. Kalu Igwe

HOD of Accounts

Kalu Igwe is the HOD of accounts department at obio cottage hospital, where he has worked for the past 3 years as an accountant. He graduated from Madonna University, Okija in 2009, with a BSc degree in Economics. He is a graduate member of Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), and also holds a diploma in Accounting and Business from the Association of Charted Certified Accountants, England (ACCA). Often challenged by his passion to make positive impacts, he volunteered for MDGS and also for OCH. He has 3 years’ post NYSC working experience with most in QHSE specialisations and auditing. He came to Obio Cottage Hospital as a Volunteer, before he gained employment. Dr. Rakiya Usman-Sarki

A highly educated and International medical professional with years of international experience acquired in reputable hospitals, aspiring for further challenges and diverse professional growth. She studied Medicine and Surgery at the prestigious University College Hospital, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. To further gain some international experience, she decided to obtain an additional medical degree at the famous Leiden University in the Netherlands. She obtained a master of medical sciences from the Leiden university. She went further to practice in the Netherlands with experiences in different specialties of medicine leading to doctor of medicine (MD) degree. Rakiya worked as a general practitioner in Den Haag, Netherland, with speacial focus on cardiovascular risk management; hypertension, diabetes mellitus type 2 and hypercholesterolemia. Married with 4 children, Rakiya loves to spend quality time with family. Her hobbies are cooking and reading.

Fondly called Pharm Mike.He is a proud holder of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria. He holds a diploma in Marketing. He has over 25 years of vast experience in pharmacy practice covering the industrial, production, marketing, and community and hospital sector of Pharmacy. He has been a staff of Obio Cottage Hospital since the inception of the Community Health Insurance Scheme in 2010. Over the years he has attended several capacity building training, formal and informal, in leadership, HIV/AIDs, Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses. He is married with three children and loves music and evangelism.
